When is it a Roll-ball?
A rollball is awarded in the following situations:
- ball dropped
- dummy half caught in possession
- taken into touch
- after 6 touches
When is it a penalty
A penalty is awarded for the following:
- a forward pass
- offside play
- performing a roll ball over the mark
- claiming a Touch when none was made
- interfering with the roll ball (running around the ruck)
- passing the ball once touched.
When a penalty is awarded, the referee will advance 10 metres from where the infringement occurred. The referee must give the exact mark from where the Tap Ball must be taken. The defending team must retire 10 metres from the mark or behind the try-line.

Top Tips for Team Captains Here are a few points for getting your team together:
1. Get a squad togetherAlthough touch is 6 a side it’s fast. Very fast. If played properly most players will only be able to manage a couple of minutes before they need a break.A squad of 12 would be a good minimum. May & June is holiday season for those without scholl aged children. Work committments often get in the way too. You will realise that you should’ve got a bigger squad when you have to play with no subs.
2. Get someone else to pay.If you have influence over corporate spend you may be able to get the business to write the cheque. To make this more likely prepare a case to get the funding. Make sure you include the following pointers: o Put the company name in your team name o Identifiy how the profile of the business will be raised o Choose team colours that reflect your corporate livery o Commit to write regular reports of your team performance and get it posted to this site.
3. Collect the money upfront If you need to self fund the entry then a fee of £120 is £10 per player for a squad of 12. If you want to get some kit together why charge £25 per player. That represents great value for money. £20 for a tee shirt and 10 weeks exercise is not far short of genius.There might even be a bit left over for some “social” activities. That’s it, you should be all set. Now all you need is 11 mates….

Touch rugby for 2011 has already begun.
Once again matches are being at Minety RFC with the first match kicking off at 6.30pm

New start on 8th June 2010
There’s only 4 weeks left of the current touch rugby season. The turn out on the 1st June 2010 was a little disappointing. I’m sure this was due to hoilday commitments rather than the weather.
As a result we’re re-launchingMalmesbury Touch Rugby at Minety RFC on 8th June 2010. Tell as many people as you can to come along. Remember touch rugby is a game of MINIMAL contact. This is why it is one of the fastest growing team sports in the UK (apart fromNorth Wiltshire!) and is suitable for players of any age and either gender
If you want to come and have a go come along to Minety RFC (we play on the top pitches – make your way to the tennis courts and we’re on the right through the gate).
First game will begin at 18.30
