Top Tips for Team Captains
Here are a few points for getting your team together:
- Get a squad togetherAlthough touch is 6 a side it’s fast. Very fast. If played properly most players will only be able to manage a couple of minutes before they need a break.A squad of 12 would be a good minimum. May & June is holiday season for those without scholl aged children. Work committments often get in the way too. You will realise that you should’ve got a bigger squad when you have to play with no subs.
- Get someone else to pay.If you have influence over corporate spend you may be able to get the business to write the cheque. To make this more likely prepare a case to get the funding. Make sure you include the following pointers:
- Put the company name in your team name
- Identifiy how the profile of the business will be raised
- Choose team colours that reflect your corporate livery
- Commit to write regular reports of your team performance and get it posted to this site.
- Collect the money upfront
If you need to self fund the entry then a fee of £120 is £10 per player for a squad of 12. If you want to get some kit together why charge £25 per player. That represents great value for money. £20 for a tee shirt and 10 weeks exercise is not far short of genius. There might even be a bit left over for some “social” activities.
That’s it, you should be all set. Now all you need is 11 mates….
